Subida di Monte

Founded in 1967 in Cormons, at the heart of the Collio region, the Subida di Mont e winery embodies the rich winemaking heritage of Friuli. This stunning location, encompassing 12 hectares of vineyards nestled amidst rolling hills, harmonizes seamlessly with the unique landscape of the Collio Goriziano.

In 2020, the winery began a new chapter under the management of Agrotech Società Agricola. This transition merged tradition with innovation, driven by a forward-looking vision to establish Subida di Monte as an icon of hospitality, design, and sustainability on the international wine stage.

Subida di Monte is more than just a winery,  it is an experience to savor. Here, the delicate balance of past and future resonates in every detail, offering visitors a journey through design, nature, and the culture of wine.

[The Project]

Architecture that Tells a Story

The renovation and expansion of the Subida di Monte winery go beyond mere architectural upgrades—they represent a visual and material homage to the wine and the land that nurtures it.

The project’s color palette draws inspiration from the natural hues of the Collio: warm grape tones, earthy browns, and soft beiges that evoke harmony and continuity with the surrounding landscape.

Upon entering, visitors are greeted by an atrium leading to a striking vaulted ceiling. Thoughtfully designed lighting enhances the architectural volumes and textured surfaces, which are adorned with relief castings featuring the project’s signature emblem—a foliage motif symbolizing the vineyard. This design creates a profound connection to nature and engages the senses.

On either side, wine-red shelving with anthracite metal details showcases the wine collection, guiding visitors toward the barrel cellar.

This space, characterized by a barrel-vaulted ceiling, features iron rod shelving and aging barrels, creating an intimate and reflective atmosphere where time seems to slow, placing wine at the center of the experience.

The tasting room, overlooking the barrel cellar, establishes both a visual and symbolic link between visitors and the winemaking process. At its center, a handcrafted communal table made of solid wood in warm, dark tones invites moments of discovery and sharing. Each piece of furniture, custom-made by skilled artisans, reflects meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every space exudes uniqueness and authenticity.

The color palette remains true to the essence of the Collio, with warm grape tones, earthy browns, and beiges, fostering harmony with the surrounding landscape.

[Monochromatic Spaces and Innovative Technology]

The Winery

The monochromatic production area is a technologically advanced space, meticulously designed to optimize every stage of the winemaking process. Attention to detail and innovative lighting ensure a seamless blend of functionality and aesthetics.

Integrated lighting highlights architectural features, defining pathways and accentuating the space’s volumes and geometries for a dynamic and refined experience. Stainless steel tanks and precision-engineered technical systems guarantee quality and accuracy at every step of production.

This union of contemporary design, carefully selected materials, and a deep respect for the surrounding landscape establishes Subida di Monte as a place where innovation and tradition coexist.

It is a sensory journey celebrating the authentic essence of the Collio, intertwining nature, culture, and craftsmanship.
